Growing Natives Garden Tour 2017
Casa de las Palmas (18 photos)
Garden #71, San Jose
Showcase Features: This tightly-spaced, wildish collector's treasure garden has a surprisingly large collection of native species and lots of interesting nooks and crannies that can be explored from the street, the driveway, and the meandering front pathway.
Other Garden Attractions: The plantings include several species of Ceanothus, manzanita, a Santa Cruz Island ironwood, an unusually shaped redwood, a mature valley oak, groundcover sages and bunch grasses. A rain collection system with a rain chain and a small brush pile border the front porch, which has a comfortable bench from which to enjoy the wildlife show.
