Other Garden Attractions: Coast live oaks, deer grass, woolly blue curls, Douglas and Pacific coast hybrid iris, California fuchsias and matilija poppies thrive in an unwatered front border. Meanwhile carpenteria, western columbine, coyote bush, penstemon, and monkeyflowers receive periodic water closer to the house.
